Temperatures are rapidly dropping in typical Nashville fashion as USN goes into full swing for the holiday season. We, the USN School Store representatives, know that the holidays can be filled with stress, so to help out here is what we strongly suggest to stock up on for the holidays.
The USN spirit store has become packed for the holiday season. With lines to get into this massive department store, waiting can be a hassle. Students have reported the lines to stretch out into the hallway and wind up all four flights of stairs. The lines have overflowed onto the fourth floor and have begun to clog up the hallways.
Students like Thayer McMillan ‘24 are fed up with the traffic on the 4th floor.
“The freshmen need to not stand in the clumps. All I want is to just get some Prime from the USN School Store,” McMillan said.
While the administration has been focused on how to cut down on the wait time, items are flying off the shelves. The new stock of USN Croc jibbitz, has created a rift among the Tigers of USN: the girls basketball team. The girls basketball team has bought out these charms. In some cases, girls have stolen the jibbitz off of each other’s identical crocs.
In contrast, the boys’ basketball team has gravitated towards the USN fanny packs. We suggest buying these creative smaller backpack alternatives; they are perfect for all of your handling needs.
Senior varsity basketball player Mahoney Daunic ‘24 is often caught wearing this stylish accessory. He, along with the majority of the team, own all three colors available here at the USN School Store.
“The USN cream colored medium custom designed fanny pack allows me to physically play basketball. Without this handcrafted masterpiece, I would lose my wits. The double pocket interior is perfect for carrying around my binder and notes. Not to mention the quick access waterproof zipper located on the front of the bag,” said Daunic ‘24.
He adds that the fanny pack aligns with the values of the team.
“Most basketball teams focus on who can sink the most shots, but we’re built differently. USN has taught me that my most useful tool (besides my USN cream colored medium custom designed fanny pack) is my knowledge learned inside the classroom” Daunic ‘24 said.

While we admit that we don’t carry as much as our closest competitor, Amazon, we have come up with a few suggestions in case you can’t find what you are looking for. With snow globes being popular gift exchanges, the USN School Store would strongly suggest giving snow circles, disks containing a flatter top-down views on these wintery scenes. These fun trinkets are great for the people who know the truth about the shape of the earth (a common belief among USN students)
We also suggest climate friendly globes, if you believe in global warming. These globes feature only polar bears swimming in water.
If you are looking for a gift to better your mind, try apolitical chess. This version of the classic game does away with all of the class structure and power dynamics of the chess world. All of the pieces are pawns and are unable to change ranks. Just try to find a place to escape within this chess alternative!
