“Can’t Fake It” by Freya Skye
Rising Disney star and pop singer-songwriter Freya Skye just released her catchy single “Can’t Fake It” with Hollywood Records. At only fifteen years old, Skye’s brief discography perfectly captures the sound of old Disney channel music from the 2010s with a modern twist.
Skye has been singing and acting since she was five, and releasing music since she was only 12 years old. When Skye was 13, she represented the United Kingdom in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her single “Lose My Head” and placed fifth overall and first in the global public, despite having to adapt for medical reasons.
In addition to continuing her music career, Skye is taking a big new step in her acting career by playing Nova in the upcoming Disney Channel movie ZOMBIES 4. This role will likely be the first of many opportunities from her songwriting contract with Disney, setting her up for greater fame and success.
Her dancing skills, which are demonstrated in her music videos, are helping her grow even farther as a rising pop sensation.
Soundtrack for Maybe Happy Ending by Will Aronson and Hue Park on Broadway

The heartbreaking musical Maybe Happy Ending has reached the Broadway stage. After being performed in English and Korean since 2016, the show is picking up growing traction in New York City at the Belasco Theater.
Based on the book written by Will Aronson and Hue Park, Maybe Happy Ending follows the story of two retired “helper-bots” in a futuristic Seoul who go on an adventure and find love along the way. They explore the world outside their apartments and push themselves past their comfort zones with the help of one another.
The soundtrack has a combination of typical musical theater-sounding songs and songs that mimic classic jazz artists with a fictional one, Gil Brentley. This refreshing blend adds a further charm to the show which the music encapsulates.
“show me” by pryme!
Up-and-coming R&B/Soul artist pryme! has been releasing singles frequently since 2024. His first of the new year is an upbeat and lighthearted song about the struggles of a relationship where someone is desperate for the other’s attention.
His popularity is mostly found on social media such as TikTok, but much of his music is underappreciated considering it’s potential to infiltrate mainstream radio. His discography shares themes and production techniques, but his contemporary twist makes distinctions between them.
“HOMESICK” by MICO
This 22-year-old Toronto native has a unique sound that stands out from that of other young pop artists. “HOMESICK” in particular has an air of nostalgia that will likely resonate with those of us heading off to college and into a world of unknowns. The lyrics surround the struggle of not knowing whether to stay in a foreign place with the opportunities there or to come home where it’s comfortable. In this case, however, it relies on the affection of someone away from home to dictate whether or not the speaker abandons their familiar life.
MICO has a very powerful and versatile voice, which makes his emotional songs feel even more tear-jerking to listen to. His layered harmonies and ad-libs could be a song of their own, showcasing his adept vocal abilities.
